The United States men's national team officially unveiled its 26-man roster for the 2026 FIFA World Cup at an event in Manhattan on Tuesday. Head coach Mauricio Pochettino selected the squad that will represent the Stars and Stripes on home soil for the first time since 1994.
However, the announcement was marked by two notable omissions: midfielders Diego Luna and Tanner Tessman. Luna, a Real Salt Lake star and fan favorite, was widely expected to make the cut, especially after being featured in Nike's World Cup promotional ads. Tessman, who plays for Lyon, had been a regular starter under Pochettino but suffered a recent muscle strain.

Captain Christian Pulisic, a veteran of the 2022 World Cup, leads the attacking group alongside Gio Reyna, Weston McKennie, and Tim Weah. Tyler Adams remains the sole dedicated defensive midfielder on the roster.
The team will compete in Group D, facing Paraguay on June 12 at SoFi Stadium in Inglewood, California, followed by matches against Australia and Turkey. Rosters can be modified until June 1.
