PARIS - Belgium’s Raphael Collignon stunned world number five Ben Shelton 7-5, 6-4, 6-4 on Thursday to advance to the third round of the French Open for the first time.

Playing his first main draw at Roland Garros, the 24-year-old broke Shelton’s serve at critical moments in each set, finishing the match in just over two hours.

Collignon credited his focus on serve return and composure under pressure. He will face Italy’s Matteo Arnaldi next.
