Atlanta Braves ace Chris Sale erupted in frustration during the fourth inning of Monday night’s 6-2 loss to the Los Angeles Angels. With the bases loaded and no outs, Sale walked Jeimer Candelario with a slider outside the strike zone.

Sale then dropped the ball, picked it up, and slammed it against his own head. His frustration mounted as the Angels capitalized-forcing in runs via walk and hit-by-pitch. A fielding error allowed a third run, putting the Angels ahead 4-1.

Despite a strong season record against the Angels, Sale struggled Monday, surrendering six runs in four innings. He exited after a two-run homer by Jo Adell in the fifth.

The Braves (6-5) face the Angels again Tuesday evening in a crucial rematch.
