Chelsea has signed Republic of Ireland captain Katie McCabe. The 30-year-old defender will join the Women's Super League club on July 1 after her contract with Arsenal expires.

McCabe signed a three-year deal with an option for a fourth year. She leaves Arsenal after winning the 2025 Champions League with the Gunners.

“It's a new chapter in my career. This is something that I feel I'm ready for right now,” McCabe said. “I'm really excited to get going and show the Chelsea fans how ready I am to perform for the badge.”

Chelsea's run of six consecutive WSL titles ended this season when Manchester City won the league.
