NASCAR driver Daniel Dye has been suspended indefinitely after making derogatory remarks about IndyCar driver David Malukas during a livestream, where he mocked Malukas’ voice and referenced his sexuality.
Dye admitted to using inappropriate language, calling Malukas’ voice 'gay,' and later issued a public apology on X, expressing regret and acknowledging the impact of his words.
He emphasized his commitment to personal growth, citing conversations with LGBTQ+ friends and pledging to educate himself on inclusivity.
NASCAR mandated sensitivity training as part of the suspension. This marks Dye’s second career suspension, following a prior incident in the ARCA series involving felony battery charges, later reduced to a misdemeanor.
Malukas has not publicly responded to the incident.
