Christian Eriksen was conscious after collapsing on the field during Denmark's international friendly against Ukraine, the country's football federation confirmed Sunday.
The 34-year-old midfielder clutched his chest in the 65th minute at Nature Energy Park in Odense before falling to the ground as players surrounded him. The match was immediately abandoned.
"Christian Eriksen is conscious and, under the circumstances, doing well," the federation posted on X. "The match has been called off."
Eriksen suffered a cardiac arrest during Denmark's opening match of the 2021 European Championship in Copenhagen, receiving extensive on-pitch treatment before regaining consciousness.
