Christian Eriksen collapsed during Denmark's international friendly against Ukraine on Sunday, four years after suffering a cardiac arrest on the pitch at the 2021 European Championship. Medical staff rushed to his aid near midfield.
The Danish Football Union reported Eriksen, 34, was conscious and feeling well. The match was abandoned with Denmark leading 2-1 in the 61st minute.
Eriksen, who previously played for Tottenham and Manchester United, now plays for VfL Wolfsburg. He was fitted with an implantable cardioverter-defibrillator after his 2021 cardiac arrest.
Team doctor Morten Boesen stated Eriksen's pacemaker responded as expected. No further hospital exams were needed.
Eriksen asked to send regards to the players that he was okay.
