The WNBA and the Women's National Basketball Players Association have verbally agreed to a new collective bargaining agreement. The deal raises the salary cap to $7 million, up from $1.5 million last season. Players will be eligible for supermax deals starting at $1.4 million in 2026. Every player will earn at least $300,000 under the new CBA.

Diana Taurasi, an 11-time All-Star and three-time champion, praised the deal, calling it a significant milestone for women’s sports. 'This is just another milestone for women’s sports. It’s nice to see the WNBA in a better place,' she said.

WNBA Commissioner Cathy Engelbert echoed Taurasi’s sentiments, highlighting the transformative step forward for the league. 'The progress made in these discussions marks a transformative step forward for players and the league,' she stated.

WNBPA executive committee president Nneka Ogwumike expressed gratitude for the deal, emphasizing the players' commitment to their business. 'We're proud of ourselves. And quite frankly, we always told you all we were going to stand on business, and that's what this looks like,' she said.

Once finalized, the new CBA will mark the sixth agreement in WNBA history, reflecting the league’s recent growth and popularity.
