SINGAPORE - Singapore alpine skier Faiz Basha, 24, aims to compete in the 2030 and 2034 Winter Olympics after a 35th-place finish in the men’s slalom at Milano Cortina. ‘I intend to keep skiing for a long time,’ he says. The University of Strathclyde student plans to focus on the World University Games before targeting the 2029 Asian Winter Games, where he hopes to break into the top 10.

Faiz is the first Singaporean skier to compete in the Olympics. He emphasizes the importance of pushing his limits. "If I didn't take it further, it would be an incredible waste," he says. His efforts have inspired fellow Singaporean Morgan Celley, who hopes to participate in the next Winter Olympics four years from now.
