FIFA has initiated disciplinary proceedings against the Spanish Football Federation (RFEF) concerning Islamophobic and xenophobic chants during a March 31 friendly between Spain and Egypt.
Supporters chanted "who doesn't jump is a Muslim" at the RCDE Stadium. The match concluded in a goalless draw. Spanish police are also investigating the incidents. Spain winger Lamine Yamal and the Egyptian Football Association have condemned the chants as disrespectful and unacceptable racism.
