FIFA Secretary-General Mattias Grafstrom will meet officials from the Iranian Football Federation (FFIRI) in Istanbul on Saturday. The meeting is intended to offer "reassurance" regarding Iran's participation in the 2026 World Cup, according to a source familiar with the talks.
Iran is scheduled to play all three of its group stage matches in the United States. However, the team's involvement in the tournament-running from June 11 to July 19-has been in doubt since the U.S. and Israel attacked Iran in late February.
