A total of 219 people have been injured in clashes between football fans and police across France after Paris Saint-Germain's Champions League final victory over Arsenal. Interior Minister Laurent Nuñez reported eight are in serious condition. Thousands of officers were deployed to curb unrest that disrupted transit in Paris, with 57 officers injured. Nuñez stated 780 people were arrested, over 450 remain in custody. One person died in an accident on the Paris ring road, which rioters attempted to block overnight. For the victory parade at the Eiffel Tower on Sunday, 6,000 police have been mobilized.
Nuñez vowed a firm response, stating, "We allow freedom of assembly, but not excesses." He noted that many individuals causing trouble are not PSG supporters.
