Iraq will travel to Monterrey for their World Cup playoff against Mexico on March 31, despite ongoing regional airspace closures due to Middle East tensions. The match follows U.S. and Israeli strikes on Iran that triggered retaliatory attacks, grounding flights since February 28.

Iraqi FA President Adnan Dirjal confirmed the team secured entry visas and will fly via a chartered aircraft. Europe-based players will join separately. FIFA has been cooperative in resolving logistical challenges.

Coach Graham Arnold had urged a delay, warning Iraq might not field a full squad, jeopardizing their first World Cup qualification since 1986.
