India's T20 World Cup winning cricket team was awarded a bonus of $14.2 million on Tuesday by the country's cricket board, six times the prize money they claimed for lifting the title.

India secured their third men’s T20 World Cup crown with a 96-run victory in the final, earning $2.34 million for the tournament win. The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) announced the additional prize in recognition of their achievement.

BCCI stated, "The Board congratulates the players, support staff and selectors once again on this historic achievement and wishes them continued success in the future."

Captain Suryakumar Yadav indicated the team's next major objective is to win a gold medal at the 2028 Los Angeles Olympics.
