Jalen Brunson shook off a first-quarter knee injury to score 30 points, leading the New York Knicks to a 105-95 victory over the San Antonio Spurs in Game 1 of the NBA Finals.
Brunson left the court grimacing in the first quarter after appearing to injure his right knee. He returned quickly and dominated the second half, erasing a 13-point third-quarter deficit. Victor Wembanyama led San Antonio with 26 points, but the Spurs shot just 25.6% from three-point range. Karl-Anthony Towns and OG Anunoby combined for 35 points for New York. The Knicks have now won 12 consecutive postseason games, tying the 1999 Spurs for the second-longest streak in NBA history.
