Jack Draper was forced to retire from the Barcelona Open on Monday due to a right leg injury. The British player pulled up midway through his first-round match against Tomas Etcheverry, casting doubt on his fitness for the remainder of the clay court season.
Draper, who has recently returned from a left arm injury, expressed his determination to overcome the latest setback. "It will take time but I will work my way out of this," he stated on social media.
The 24-year-old's withdrawal follows an earlier exit in Dubai and a quarter-final appearance at Indian Wells, where he defeated Novak Djokovic. He had withdrawn from Monte Carlo to protect his arm and was hoping to start his clay season in Barcelona ahead of the French Open.
