Las Vegas Raiders General Manager John Spytek confirmed during a pre-draft news conference that the team has received "a few calls" from other organizations interested in trading for the No. 1 overall pick in the upcoming NFL Draft.

Spytek indicated that while the Raiders are open to listening to offers, the team remains committed to selecting a player they deem outstanding, such as presumed top prospect Fernando Mendoza, the quarterback from Indiana. If a player truly stands out, the Raiders will proceed with the selection rather than trading down.

Despite recent moves like signing veteran quarterback Kirk Cousins and retaining Aidan O'Connell, the Raiders appear focused on potentially selecting a new quarterback with the top pick. New head coach Klint Kubiak, fresh off a Super Bowl win as offensive coordinator, will oversee the team's draft strategy as they aim to improve the roster with their 10 total picks, including the coveted first selection.

Spytek emphasized that all draft picks will compete on merit for roster spots and playing time.
