Jos Verstappen, ex-Formula One driver and father of Max Verstappen, emerged unhurt from a crash during the Rallye de Wallonie in Belgium on Sunday.

The 54-year-old Dutchman, reigning Belgian Rally Champion, withdrew after his Skoda suffered a "violent crash" that sent it into a roll. Organizers confirmed the crew was unharmed but the car sustained severe damage, making retirement unavoidable.

Local reports indicate Verstappen lost control and collided with a tree. Adrian Fernemont secured victory at the Rallye de Wallonie for the third time.
