The No. 18 car, synonymous with NASCAR legend Kyle Busch, will make a special appearance at the 110th Indianapolis 500.

Dale Coyne Racing announced it will run the classic Joe Gibbs Racing No. 18 livery on Romain Grosjean's Honda for the race. The idea came from Fox Sports commentator Townsend Bell, requiring approval from Joe Gibbs Racing due to trademark rights.

Busch, who died at 41, never competed in IndyCar but was deeply respected across motorsports. He drove the No. 18 for 15 years in the Cup Series, winning two championships with the iconic M&M's paint scheme.

His brother, Kurt Busch, famously attempted the 2014 Indy 500/Coca-Cola 600 double.

Grosjean starts 24th. A victory for the No. 18 would be a fitting tribute.
