Kevin Knight, known as "The Jet," is the current AEW TNT Champion. At 29, Knight has already held the TNT title and multiple trios championships. But seven years ago, he was just getting started in the business.

Knight moved to Seattle after college to begin his wrestling training. He later joined the New Japan LA Dojo, living a Japanese-style routine during the pandemic. He says that diverse background - from Brooklyn to Atlanta to Seattle to LA - made him "The Jet."

Last March, Knight and Mike Bailey signed with AEW. Knight cited the promotion's creative freedom and direct access to owner Tony Khan as key factors.

Knight won the vacant TNT Championship in a six-man gauntlet match at Dynasty last month. It's his first singles title. He now faces Darby Allin for the AEW World Championship on "Dynamite." Knight calls the match a full-circle moment: Allin gave him advice early in his career at the Buddy Wayne Academy in Seattle.

The two losses - to Allin and Knight - have pushed MJF to the back of the line, according to Knight.
