Norway's Johannes Hoesflot Klaebo has secured his fifth Olympic gold medal at the current Winter Games, marking the 10th of his illustrious career. The 29-year-old cross-country skier, alongside Einar Hedegart, claimed gold in the men's team sprint with a decisive time.

Klaebo has achieved a perfect record in every event he's entered at the 2026 Milan Cortina Games. His remarkable performance includes breaking the Winter Olympics record in the 4 x 7.5km relay earlier in the competition. His final event will be the 50km mass start this weekend.

This latest victory positions Klaebo as only the second athlete in Olympic history to reach 10 gold medals, a feat previously achieved only by US swimming legend Michael Phelps, who holds 23.

"It's obviously very satisfying to make this happen," Klaebo stated post-win. "The team sprint is one of the most fun events, but also one of the hardest." He elaborated, "There are so many strong teams, and so many fast skiers, so it always comes down to tight battles. That makes it even more rewarding."

US skiers Ben Ogden and Gus Schumacher earned the silver medal, finishing just 1.4 seconds behind Klaebo's team. Schumacher expressed pride in his performance, noting he "locked in" and followed Klaebo to the finish line. Ogden is now recognized as the US's most decorated male cross-country skier.
