Lionel Messi has set a new standard in World Cup history.

The Argentine star became the first player ever to score in seven consecutive World Cup matches. He achieved the feat with a free-kick goal against Jordan in Dallas during a 3-1 victory.

His historic scoring run began in the 2022 Qatar tournament and continued through the 2026 finals. The streak includes goals in the epic 2022 final against France.

Messi now holds the all-time World Cup scoring record with 19 goals, surpassing the previous mark of six consecutive matches shared by Just Fontaine and Jairzinho.
