Liverpool has agreed to personal terms with 19-year-old Ivorian winger Yan Diomande following his breakout season at RB Leipzig. The two clubs are now negotiating a transfer fee that could define the summer window. Leipzig values Diomande at approximately €130 million after he recorded 12 goals and nine assists in a single Bundesliga campaign.
Diomande joined Leipzig from Leganés last July for €20 million and was named Bundesliga Rookie of the Season. Despite interest from Paris Saint-Germain, the player reportedly prefers Liverpool and seeks a resolution before the upcoming World Cup. This preference has accelerated direct negotiations between the clubs.
To bridge the valuation gap, Liverpool is exploring a player-plus-cash arrangement involving forward Cody Gakpo. Including the Dutch international could reduce Liverpool’s cash outlay while satisfying Leipzig’s demands. A €130 million transfer would rank among the largest deals in Liverpool’s history, reflecting the premium placed on elite young talent in the current market.
