Sharon Lokedi is set to defend her Boston Marathon title on Monday, aiming for a second consecutive win. The Kenyan runner, who set a course record last year with a time of 2:17:22, stated that the pressure of defending her championship remains a familiar challenge.

Lokedi, also the 2022 New York Marathon winner, views each race as a unique competition. "It's always a different race. It's always a different group of women, a different type of competition. So I just treat it like it's a new race," she commented.

She highlighted visualization and thorough training as key preparation tools. Lokedi advised fellow competitors to maintain a controlled pace from the start, viewing pre-race nerves as a positive indicator of readiness.
