TORONTO - Toronto Maple Leafs captain Auston Matthews underwent successful knee surgery in New York on March 19, 2026.
The NHL club confirmed he will require approximately 12 weeks of recovery. Matthews sustained a torn medial collateral ligament in his left knee during a March 12 game against the Anaheim Ducks following a hit by Ducks captain Radko Gudas, who was later suspended for five games.
