The Winnipeg Jets have secured goaltender Stu Skinner on a two-year contract carrying an average annual value of US $3.75 million.
Skinner, a 27-year-old Edmonton native, split the 2025-26 season with the Oilers and Pittsburgh Penguins. Over 50 starts, he posted a 2.92 goals-against average, a .888 save percentage, and a 23-17-9 record.
His NHL career spans 224 regular-season games, boasting a 121-71-23 record, a 2.77 GAA, and a .902 save percentage. The six-foot-four netminder also brings deep playoff experience, having backstopped Edmonton to consecutive Stanley Cup Final appearances in 2024 and 2025 across 53 career postseason contests.
This marks only the second time Winnipeg has addressed its goaltending via a significant free-agent signing, the previous being Steve Mason in 2017.
