French striker Kylian Mbappe has condemned a Paraguayan senator who launched a racist attack against him following France's 1-0 World Cup victory over Paraguay.

Senator Celeste Amarilla posted a tirade on social media, using slurs to describe Mbappe, the French captain, and calling for violence against him.

Mbappe responded directly, calling Amarilla a "despicable woman" unworthy of her position. He stated her racism overshadowed the Paraguayan team's historic effort in the tournament.

The French Football Federation is escalating the matter, announcing plans to file criminal charges with the public prosecutor's office, calling the remarks "utterly abhorrent and unacceptable."
