Manchester City have officially signed England forward Beth Mead on a three-year deal. The Women’s Super League champions confirmed the acquisition Friday, marking a significant shift for the 31-year-old star after nine years at Arsenal.
Mead joins City following the expiration of her contract with the London club. Her tenure at Arsenal was decorated with multiple domestic titles and a Champions League victory. An integral part of the England national team, Mead has earned 81 senior caps and played key roles in the European Championship wins of 2022 and 2025.
“I’m very proud to be here,” Mead stated. “City had an amazing season last year and I am excited to start a new chapter. The way City play suits me really well, and I feel like it can bring something extra out of my game.”
Therese Sjogran, City’s director of women’s football, emphasized the strategic value of the signing. “Beth’s achievements in the game speak for themselves,” Sjogran said. “Signing a player of Beth’s quality can only strengthen us. She has shown she can consistently perform on the biggest stages we want to compete on.”
