Manchester City have reached an agreement with Nottingham Forest to sign midfielder Elliot Anderson in a deal that could shatter the British transfer record.
The package is reported at £106 million. Performance-related add-ons could push the total beyond £120 million.
Anderson, 23, will undergo a medical in the United States. City are discussing a five-year contract with an option to extend.
The agreement was reached on June 25, 2026. City's initial offer of £85 million was rejected. Manchester United had also expressed interest, but City established themselves as frontrunners early.
Anderson joined Nottingham Forest from Newcastle United in 2023 for £35 million. His value has roughly tripled in two seasons.
For City, the deal's structure, with a large base fee and performance add-ons, builds in financial protection. They are betting on Anderson being a central figure for the club's medium-term plans.
