Maryland women's basketball coach Brenda Frese had a heated exchange with guard Oluchi Okananwa during the Terrapins' 74-66 loss to North Carolina in the NCAA Women’s Basketball Tournament.

Frese confronted Okananwa on the sideline after she struggled in the third quarter, turning the ball over and missing key shots. 'I believe in you, but you got to want this moment,' Frese said.

Okananwa finished the game with 21 points, six rebounds, and two steals, despite six turnovers. She later praised Frese's tough coaching style.

'I love to be coached hard. That’s what she does with me every single day,' Okananwa said.

Frese has been the head coach at Maryland since 2002, with a record of 688-208. She emphasized the importance of hard conversations with elite players.
