NICE, France - Nuno Mendes scored a first-half penalty and set up Desire Doue as Paris Saint-Germain surged back to the top of Ligue 1 with a commanding 4-0 win over 10-man Nice.

PSG now hold 60 points from 26 matches-edging ahead of Lens by one point and holding a game in hand. Nice, stuck on 27 points from 27 games, sit just five points above the relegation zone.

After repeated missed chances, PSG broke through in the 42nd minute when referee Willy Delajod awarded a penalty following a VAR review for handball by Morgan Sanson. Mendes converted his sixth goal of the season.

Four minutes into the second half, Mendes drove into the box and fed Doue, who blasted home from 10 meters. Nice’s hopes faded further when Youssouf Ndayishimiye was sent off after a VAR-confirmed reckless foul on Lee Kang-in.

Dro Fernandez, an 18-year-old ex-Barcelona prospect, netted his first senior goal after an Ousmane Dembele assist, and Warren Zaire-Emery sealed the rout with a late fourth.
