New Pittsburgh Steelers wide receiver Michael Pittman Jr. shared his thoughts on the persistent question of Aaron Rodgers' potential return for the 2026 NFL season. "I'm hoping he's close," Pittman told Fox News Digital.
Pittman, who joined the Steelers this offseason, acknowledged the speculation but stated he has no inside information. "I don’t know anything… Why would Aaron tell me anything?" he said with a laugh.
He noted his personal experience with frequent quarterback changes during his time with the Indianapolis Colts, playing with ten different starters. Pittman emphasized Rodgers' undeniable talent and the team's desire for his return, stating, "We would love to have him back. At the end of the day, he has to decide that for himself."
While Rodgers has been working out, there has been no communication with the team regarding his decision. The Steelers are currently preparing with sixth-round pick Will Howard as the expected starting quarterback for voluntary workouts.
Pittman also spoke about his excitement for Pittsburgh's passionate sports culture. "Everybody is wearing something sports. It’s either the Steelers, the Pirates or the Penguins," he observed.
In a separate initiative, Pittman is partnering with Toyota for an NFL Draft flag football training camp for Pittsburgh high school girls, aiming to mentor young athletes and promote girls' flag football.
