Mexican sports journalist Fernando Vargas was carjacked at gunpoint while reporting live on Tuesday. The incident occurred at a gas station in Morelos during a segment for the show 'Bla, bla, bla Deportivo.'
An armed man approached Vargas’s car, cocked his weapon, and demanded keys, phones, and wallets. Vargas remained calm, handed over his belongings, and exited the vehicle safely.
Host Ed Martinez confirmed Vargas is safe but shaken. Vargas also serves as communications director for Mexico’s Professional Basketball League (LNBP). The league condemned the attack and praised his professionalism. No arrests have been made.
