Mexican powerlifter and circus performer Diana Batres has broken the Guinness World Record for the heaviest weight lifted by a female using only her hair, hoisting 166.11 pounds (75.35 kg) on February 28, 2026.
Batres, an international circus artist specializing in aerial work, fire manipulation, and hair suspension, far surpassed the previous record of 122.58 pounds set in 2014. She trained by towing heavy vehicles and building strength in her scalp, neck, and back. For the attempt, she braided her hair into two sections, attached a carabiner, and lifted six plates from a squat to full extension.
The male record of nearly 180 pounds was set in 2013 by 83-year-old Abdurakhman Abdulazizov of Russia. Batres is also a public speaker promoting female empowerment and resilience.
