The New York Knicks may be without a key reserve as they prepare for their first NBA Finals appearance in nearly 30 years.
Center Mitchell Robinson has suffered a broken right pinky, and his timetable for return is unclear, according to multiple reports.
Robinson serves as the primary backup to Karl-Anthony Towns and is also part of a double-center lineup deployed by head coach Mike Brown. In the Eastern Conference Finals sweep of the Cleveland Cavaliers, he averaged 4.5 points and 5.8 rebounds in 13.3 minutes per game.
Game 1 is scheduled for June 3. The Knicks await the winner of the Western Conference Finals between the Oklahoma City Thunder and San Antonio Spurs. If Robinson is unavailable, rookie Ariel Hukporti is expected to see increased minutes off the bench.
