Rory McIlroy has won the Masters, securing his sixth major championship and becoming the fourth player to win back-to-back at Augusta National. He is the first to achieve this feat since Tiger Woods in 2002.

McIlroy, ranked world number two, finished the tournament at 12 under par after a final round 71. He held off a charge from Scottie Scheffler, the world number one, who finished one shot behind.

Scheffler's bid for a third consecutive birdie faltered on the 17th hole, ultimately leaving him in second place.
