MUNICH, Germany - Bayern Munich are facing a critical shortage of fit goalkeepers after veteran Sven Ulreich sustained an adductor muscle injury during their 1-1 draw at Bayer Leverkusen.

Ulreich, 37, joined first-choice Manuel Neuer and Jonas Urbig on the injury list. Neuer remains sidelined by a muscle strain and is unlikely to return for Wednesday’s Champions League return leg against Atalanta.

Urbig, who suffered a concussion in midweek, is expected to recover next week.

With no senior options available, 16-year-old talent Leonard Prescott was on the bench in both recent matches and could be thrust into action for Bayern’s crucial tie.

The Bavarian club holds a 6-1 advantage from the first leg.

Bayern continues to rely on reserve team keepers as they prepare for high-stakes European football.
