MEXICO CITY, March 15 - Mexico broke the Guinness World Record for the world’s largest soccer class, drawing approximately 9,500 participants in a 40-minute session at Zocalo Plaza.
The event surpassed the previous record set in Seattle in 2025 by 1,038 attendees. The milestone comes months before Mexico joins the United States and Canada in hosting the 2026 World Cup, beginning June 11.
Guinness World Records judge Alfredo Arista declared the group officially amazing, stating, "You are officially amazing, congratulations."
Mexico City Mayor Clara Brugada hailed the moment: "We sent a message to the world - sport, soccer, is the universal language of peace."
Participants of all ages followed instructors and former Mexican players on stage during the dynamic class.
