Norway's Johannes Hoesflot Klaebo has achieved a historic milestone at the Milan Cortina Games, becoming the first athlete to win six gold medals in a single Winter Olympics.
Klaebo's victory in the 50-kilometer mass start race surpassed the nearly 50-year-old record previously held by American speed skater Eric Heiden, who won five golds in 1980. While Heiden's record for individual wins remains, Klaebo's accomplishment includes team events.

The Norwegian sweep saw teammates Martin Loewstroem Nyenget take silver and Emil Iversen win bronze.
With this record-breaking performance, the 29-year-old Klaebo now holds the most career Winter Olympic gold medals, extending his lead in Olympic history. His six golds at Milan Cortina also contributed to Norway securing a record 18th gold medal in these Games, further solidifying their dominance in the overall medal count.
