Ontario bars and restaurants can begin serving alcohol at 6 a.m. on Sunday to accommodate fans watching the Canadian men's ice hockey Olympic gold medal game. The provincial government is temporarily altering licensing rules for this specific event.

Team Canada celebrating

Premier Doug Ford announced the change, encouraging Ontarians to "support local businesses and cheer on Team Canada." This early opening allows patrons to gather and watch the game, which begins at 8:10 a.m. EST. Typically, alcohol sales in Ontario are permitted between 9 a.m. and 2 a.m.
