Ukrainian officials have urged the International Olympic Committee to re-evaluate the "neutral" status of certain Russian athletes.
Sports authorities in Ukraine claim some athletes have military connections or competed in events violating Olympic guidelines. These guidelines bar Russians and Belarusians from competing under flags or anthems unless vetted.
The appeal, signed by Ukrainian Sports Minister Matvii Bidny and National Olympic Committee head Vadym Guttsait, alleges violations in sports climbing and cites a November event in Moscow linked to the International Military Sports Council (CISM).
Ukraine says this confirms military involvement in international sports and seeks suspension of implicated individuals from future competitions.
