Baltimore Orioles pitcher Anthony Nunez turned a routine relief appearance into an unforgettable moment on Sunday. After pitching the eighth inning against the Athletics at Camden Yards, Nunez mouthed to the camera, “It’s a boy.”

The gender reveal was for his brother and sister-in-law, Danny and Makayla Delgado, who are expecting their third child. The couple did not know the baby’s sex until they saw Nunez on TV.

Nunez explained that his family gathered for Mother’s Day, and his brother had just revealed the pregnancy. Nunez volunteered to share the news during the game. “He just announced to them today they were having their third kid, and he wanted to do the gender reveal,” Nunez said.

On the field, Gunnar Henderson and Dylan Beavers drove in runs against Luis Severino. Keegan Akin started, but Chris Bassitt earned the win throwing six innings. Rico Garcia recorded his third save. The Orioles improved to 18-23; the A’s dropped to 21-19.
