Al-Nassr approached Pep Guardiola after the manager announced he would step down from Manchester City at the end of the season. The Saudi champions aim to pair him with Cristiano Ronaldo.

A historic tactical partnership with Ronaldo is a sensational possibility, yet Guardiola's representative downplayed the talks.

Agent Josep Maria Orobitg confirmed to Saudi outlet Okaz: "There was contact a month and a half ago, just contact, without any commitment or written offer. It's not that much money." He dismissed reports of a nearly €130 million per season offer.

Orobitg also mentioned contact with the Saudi Arabian Federation but said further talks are not planned. "At the moment, none of them have much of a chance of signing Guardiola."

Guardiola will take charge of City for the final time on Sunday against Aston Villa. After that, he will begin his role as Global Ambassador for the City Football Group.
