Pep Guardiola announced he will leave Manchester City at the end of the season after a trophy-laden decade that transformed English football. The Catalan guided City to 20 trophies, including six Premier League titles and the club's only Champions League. His final match in charge will be Sunday against Aston Villa at the Etihad. He will stay with the City Football Group as a global ambassador.

"Don't ask me the reasons I'm leaving. There is no reason, but deep inside, I know it's my time," Guardiola said.

Former Chelsea manager Enzo Maresca, who previously worked on Guardiola's staff, is widely reported as his successor.

Guardiola arrived from Barcelona and Bayern Munich with an already stellar reputation. His influence reshaped English football, with rivals hiring his disciples - including Arsenal's Mikel Arteta and Liverpool's Arne Slot - in an attempt to catch up.

His exit comes amid unresolved Premier League charges against City for Financial Fair Play violations. An independent commission hearing concluded in December, but the verdict remains pending.
