FOX Sports announced Tuesday that legendary goalkeeper Peter Schmeichel will join its star-studded broadcast crew for the 2026 FIFA World Cup this summer.
"I'm so happy to be joining the FOX Sports team again for this special FIFA World Cup and can't wait for the opening match on June 11," said Schmeichel.
Schmeichel, 62, is a Manchester United legend who won 15 trophies with the club, including the 1999 UEFA Champions League, completing a historic treble. He also captained Denmark to the 1992 European Championship and is Denmark's third most capped player with 129 appearances.
He joins a roster of international stars including Clarence Seedorf, Javier "Chicharito" Hernández, Zlatan Ibrahimović, and Thierry Henry. Rebecca Lowe will make her FOX Sports debut as a World Cup host.
The 2026 tournament runs June 11 through July 19, with all 104 matches broadcast live on FOX, FS1, and streaming platforms.
