AUGUSTA, Georgia - Justin Rose has taken a one-shot lead over defending champion Rory McIlroy as the final round of the Masters gets underway.
Rose, who began the day three shots off the lead, made a strong start with a chip-in birdie on the first hole. He birdied four of five holes to build a cushion, though McIlroy cut into the lead with a birdie on the eighth.
McIlroy, seeking to become the first repeat Masters champion since Tiger Woods, had a mixed front nine but remains firmly in contention. Cameron Young, also an overnight co-leader, is in third place.
World number one Scottie Scheffler is among the other contenders, aiming to add to his major championship tally.
