Nine-time world champion Sebastien Ogier has dramatically reduced his Toyota teammate Oliver Solberg's lead in Kenya's Safari Rally to just one second. Ogier, who started the day over a minute behind, launched a charge through challenging conditions near Lake Naivasha.

Solberg, who had held a significant lead, encountered difficulties including going off into bushes on stage four and suffering a puncture on stage eight, costing him valuable time. Ogier capitalized, setting fastest times on multiple stages.

Championship leader Elfyn Evans sits third, 20.5 seconds off the lead, while Sami Pajari is fourth despite a penalty. Hyundai's Thierry Neuville and Adrien Fourmaux are fifth and sixth respectively, with Takamoto Katsuta dropping to seventh due to front tyre damage.

The rally continues with six more stages on Saturday, including the lengthy 'Soysambu' stage, before concluding on Sunday.
