Glasgow, May 17 - The Scottish Football League has confirmed that Saturday's title decider between Celtic and Heart of Midlothian was not cut short due to a pitch invasion. The match officially ended in stoppage time after Celtic secured a 3-1 victory, clinching a record 56th title at a raucous Parkhead.
Celtic’s Callum Osmand scored in the eighth minute of stoppage time, igniting celebrations as fans stormed the pitch. Hearts needed only a point to win their first championship in 66 years.
The league condemned the fan encroachment but clarified the match was not abandoned early. Hearts issued a statement denouncing the "disgraceful" scenes, alleging verbal and physical abuse of their players by pitch invaders.
Police Scotland confirmed several arrests and injuries to two officers amid the celebrations.
