Seattle Seahawks linebacker Derick Hall, a Super Bowl hero with a tone-setting strip sack, overcame staggering odds from birth. Hall had a mere 1% chance of survival when he was born four months premature at 23 weeks gestation, without a heartbeat and suffering a brain bleed.

His mother, Stacy Gooden-Crandle, described the early days as filled with uncertainty and fear, but found strength in her faith, believing God would guide them. This belief became central to their family's understanding of Hall's survival and future.

Hall credits his faith for helping him cope with struggles, stating, "You can’t tell me that a child with a one percent chance to live... ends up being a Super Bowl champion one day without the Lord being in their lives."

Despite lifelong challenges, including underdeveloped lungs limiting physical activity, Hall found solace and a sense of normalcy in football. His journey included a scare in college that reinforced his commitment to his passion.

After a frustrating regular season with limited sacks, Hall delivered a career-defining performance in Super Bowl LX, recording two sacks and a forced fumble. This breakthrough on the biggest stage was, for Hall, a testament to divine timing.

Hall and his mother are now partnering with Huggies for its "Natural Born Fighters" campaign, supporting premature babies in NICU units, further connecting his past to his present success.
