Singapore's friendly football match against the Faroe Islands, scheduled for March 26 in Dubai, has been cancelled. The Football Association of Singapore (FAS) cited the evolving situation in the Middle East and its potential implications for travel and operations as the reason for the cancellation.

The safety of players, staff, and supporters was the primary concern. The Singaporean team will now focus on a centralized training program in preparation for their Asian Cup group stage match against Bangladesh on March 31.

Singapore has already secured its place in the 2027 Asian Cup, having topped their group. This cancellation marks the end of a planned European opposition encounter since a draw with Azerbaijan in 2012. The conflict in the Middle East, involving strikes against Iranian cities, influenced the decision.
